Rainy Days

How do you spend your rainy days? A question not asked enough, in my opinion. Do you go out into the rain and splash around in puddles? Do you read books till your eyes can't take it? Do you lay in bed and watch movies till it stops? I decided to answer this question.

Let's get one thing straight, I love rain. I love being caved in, and using umbrellas, and yes, even occasionally splashing in puddles. But one thing I really, super, duper love about rain is its metaphorical reasonance: without pain, we couldn't know joy. Now I'm not saying that rainy days are painful. What I'm saying is that without rainy and gloomy days how could we determine the dark days from the bright ones?

How do I like to spend rainy days? That's easy.

I place my mattresses against the wall to cushion my back, cover myself with my blanket, and write.

And if the rain is pounding on the window, I turn on my Nano and listen to the radio (mainly 105.5 ((check them out)).

Well, there you have it. Rainy days are pretty chill for me.

Sailor

Today I went for a "Sailor look". A striped shirt (the usual), cuffed pants, and leather vans. My shirt and pants are from Hollister.

Hollister is a "SoCal" based brand, meaning most of their clothes are beach clothes or are beach related. So if you're going for a more laid back "surfer" look, then Hollister is the brand for you. They have everything from sweaters to slippers. Their stores setup is super cool. You'll actually forget that you're at the mall when you're in there (trust me, its happened to me a couple of times).

On Nicci is an outfit by H&M. A gray top and dark blue pants with little gold hearts on it. She got this outfit last year at the opening of H&M at MegaMall. These two brands are, in my opinion, the best brands in the world. So if ever you have trouble trying to find me something for my birthday... You know where to look. Haha just kidding.

Expo Kid

Yesterday was a very eventful day. I guess you can say it was a basketball filled day, but for my family pretty much everyday is a basketball filled day.

Team Belasco, along with the BUSA coaches, attended the Expo Kid event. We showcased our BUSA Basketball program and had a booth set up to promote our summer classes. They had all kinds of booths set up there; Engineering For Kids (a school for kids to learn to build stuff and be creative), Holy Caraboa (a stand selling vegetables), Little Painters (I think the name speaks for itself), and so much more. They even had a little petting and feeding station, Nicci squeezed the life out of every single guinea pig there. The event's main focus was to inform all the "Mommies" about summer programs they might be interested in for there kids. They accomplished that without a doubt.

One For One

Earlier this week my family and I had the pleasure of attending the Toms event. It was held at Your Local, the most photogenic cafe in Makati. We had great time.

We started off the event with delicious lunch. Then we learned what Toms is all about. Toms started in Argentina, and was founded by Blake Mycoskie. He noticed the huge amount of people that were barefoot and decided to help them out, they made and gave away 10,000 pairs of shoes. Can you believe that? He decided to call them "Tomorrow Shoes" or in short "Toms". Now 35 million pairs of Toms have been given away. Did you know that the Philippines is the only country in the world to receive donations from Toms and sell them at the same time?

At the event they showcased their awesome shoes, along with their eyewear and coffee. My dad and I had our eyes on some pretty cool shoes. I personally liked the tribal ones (check them out in the pictures below). Did you know that with every pair you purchase Toms will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need? So when you buy a pair of Toms you make a difference in someone else's life.
