Matchy-Matchy

Nicci and I decided to match. She chose her outfit and my shirt, I take no credit for this outfit post.

Today I wore a khaki pocket tee from Cotton On. I got this shirt in Santa Cruz about two years ago, when I started obsessing over the simplicity and awesomeness of pocket tees. I love the Aztec-tribal pattern on the pocket, that's one thing that caught my eye while I was in Cotton On. I'm wearing my favorite pair of skinny jeans from KR3W and my black Nike Roshe Runs.

Nicci is wearing one of her favorite dresses from Sea Otter and The Starfish, with a pair of jeggings that match perfectly. Her slippers are from Australia.

Field Trip Day

We started off our day at 6AM, I found this quite hard to do. Partially because I haven't done it in a while and partially because, come on, who gets used to waking up at 6AM? Anyways, we woke up at six, went to CCF, listened to a seminar, and played in the mud. To be more specific, we played cops and robbers and handball, which ultimately lead to playing in the mud. We went to the field expecting it to be dry. But to our surprise, it wasn't. So we took off our shoes and played barefoot. I've never felt so gross in my life. But it was fun watching everyone slip and fall and get covered in mud.

After, we went to the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial. We lived in a building right beside it and never actually went inside. It was pretty amazing seeing it close up after only seeing it from the top (our condo had an awesome view that included SM Aura, the cemetery, and parts of the Fort). We learned about battle strategies, different routes taken during the wars, and soldiers that died for our nation. Thanks to them, I am alive today. We saw the routes of the Guadalcanal, a trip my great grandfather took part in. They had a wall of names of the soldiers that died, we found a possible relative of ours. It was pretty amazing.

Maroon

Today I decided to wear another set of H&M clothes because why not? Plus I felt like being matchy-matchy. So here goes nothing.

I'm wearing my striped maroon and white shirt from H&M. You can't see, but it has little white spots that look like splattered paint on it. It's one of my favorite shirts. Like I said before, I have a thing for stripes. More than half of my shirts are striped, so you'll see me in stripes more often than not. My maroon shorts are also from H&M. I've had this outfit for a year and it, surprisingly, still fits me. That just shows that when your mom tells you to get your clothes a little bigger than they should be, you should listen. Let's move on to my shoes. I'm wearing my favorite pair of vans. Classy shoes that can be worn casually. They're leather, light brown and outlined in dark blue. I guess you can say this is my "Go-to outfit". When we're in a rush to go somewhere and I have no idea what to wear i usually just throw this on.

Ten Years Strong

Ten years ago today an amazing couple got married. That couple is my mom and dad. A decade of love, happiness, and togetherness. Happy 10th!

Ten years ago today I walked down the aisle with a pillow in my hands, half awake. I remember being jet lagged, we had just flown in from the states. I remember yawning uncontrollably, in every picture we took my mouth was half open and my eyes were closed. Despite my tiredness, I remember seeing my dad super happy. He smiled a real smile (not the half smile he smiles in pictures with PBA fans). I remember feeling the happiness in the room. I remember seeing my mom in her stunning dress. I remember taking short five minute naps in different periods of time during the event. Ten years, a decade. Time flies. I just want to thank them, thanks mom for lighting up my dads face. For bringing back his goofy uncontrollable smile. Thank you dad for always being there for me. I love you both beyond words. Happy Anniversary!

Hey look it's Thursday! What a coincidence, here's your throwback for this week.
